CARY — It was a very special birthday celebration for a girl in Cary.

Her father, who has been in Afghanistan for months, surprised her at summer camp at the YMCA. Trinity Reefer was speechless when her dad joined the party they were having on Wednesday.

“I was thinking, 'How is he here? He is supposed to be here in September.',” said Trinity Reefer.

“I did not know how she would react. And I was excited about what her reaction would be. I have been here for over a week waiting just to show up,” said Murray Reefer.

Murray Reefer is a dentist in the Army.
