CHARLOTTE -- A portion of North Tryon Street in Charlotte is closed due to a fatal accident. One person was killed around 7 a.m. at the intersection with Sugar Creek Road. Another person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other details have been released.

North Tryon is expected to be closed for several hours. Drivers are advised to take the plaza as an alternate route.
