GREENSBORO -- Friends and family are remembering the life of 18-year-old Joshua Gilmore. The Smith High School graduate was killed in a shooting next door to his home early Monday morning.

His loved ones held a candlelight vigil Thursday night at Spring Valley Park and talked about his legacy.

"Be a better person yourself, if there's anything in you that says, 'you know what I could be better on that, I could be better on that,' then do that," said the victim's father, Charles Gilmore, Jr. "That's what Josh would tell you to do. He'd say, 'well, what you waiting for?'"

Marisol Morris, 21, is charged with his first-degree murder.
