FAYETTEVILLE—A fundraiser will be held this weekend for the family of slain Lumberton police officer Jeremiah Goodson.

The event will take place Sunday at the Wine and Design studio in Fayetteville and is sponsored by Wives Behind the Badge. A professional artist will help attendees create a work honoring Goodson.

Goodson left behind a wife and three children; one of whom was born just days after his funeral.

"We're really excited about helping the Goodson family. I have never met her but it's so unfortunate. We here at Wine and Design are excited about it," said Wine and Design owner Crystal Roberts.

The cost of the fundraiser is $40 for adults and $25 for children. Participants who bring bring diapers will be eligible to win door prizes. Seating is limited, so people are encouraged to register on the Wine and Design website.
