CMPD investigate Hiram Street house shooting

CHARLOTTE—Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a shooting in west Charlotte, that sent a person to the hospital.


It happened around 3:00 a.m. Sunday on Hiram Street.


Multiple bullet holes peppered a home and cars parked outside.


One person inside was hit, but they're expected to make a full recovery.


A former neighbor who said she was shocked and concerned something like that happened so close to where she used to live.


CMPD's crime mapping system showed the area has seen a lot of criminal activity in 2012.


Since January 1, police have reported 24 aggravated assaults, 12 residential burglaries, and one armed robbery within a quarter mile of the home shot at Sunday morning.
