CHARLOTTE--Charlotte residents found a new way to fight for a cure on Sunday. Teams of six to eight took part in the "Pink Lady Fire Truck Pull."

Crews worked together to drag the Charlotte Fire Department's pink truck across the finish line the quickest.

This unique fundraiser helps raise money for breast cancer research.

Local law enforcement said the fire truck pull is just the beginning.

"Something different, something out there, something people can remember. Like I said, again, this is the first annual one, so hopefully years to come will have additional events like this," said CMPD Officer Cindy Wallace.

The event was a collaboration between Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police's "Cops for the Cure" and the Charlotte Fire Department's "Fight to Extinguish" initiatives.

Teams competed for prizes in three categories: all male, all female and co-ed.
