WILMINGTON – The Brunswick nuclear plant will test its emergency sirens Wednesday.

The tests are used to make sure the system is still in working order and are required by the state.

The sirens will be sounded for about 10 seconds at a time. The plant currently generates nearly 2,000 megawatts of electricity.
