CHARLOTTE -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for a man who shot a homeowner in the eye. It happened Tuesday at a home on East 17th Street in Charlotte.

Police say the victim and his girlfriend were doing renovations when the suspect broke in and demanded money.

The victim is in critical condition at the hospital. The woman wasn't hurt. The suspect took off on foot.
