CHARLOTTE--Thousands of people are expected to line up in uptown Charlotte for their chance to audition for American Idol.

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. Sunday at Time Warner Cable Arena, and will continue around the clock until 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, when auditions begin.

Organizers say the event could draw as many as 15,000 people over the three days.
