Software, software, software. As expected from Sony at this year's E3, it's primarily about the titles, from the graphically stunning PS3 exclusives like God of War to a mobile version of the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed 3, created just for the PlayStation Vita.

And like Microsoft and Nintendo, Sony is also pushing the so-called second screen, a second device with a screen for controlling some of the action on the big TV. Primarily for Sony, that comes through cooperation between the Vita and the PS3, but it's also getting more involved with phones through a re-branded effort called PlayStation Mobile.

Perhaps Sony's most exciting news was that it's motion-sensing PlayStation Move will allow for a new way to read books.

"Wonderbook puts a physical book in your hands and supports a new range of experiences that bring stories to life in your living room, using augmented reality technology via PlayStation Eye that allows you to explore and interact like never before," says Sony's Andrew House.

One of the first book titles for the Move will be "Book of Spells," which is being penned by J.K. Rowling as an interactive extension of her online Harry Potter world Pottermore. The book features spells you cast with the controller on top of some original Harry Potter content. Out this fall, it could possibly be just the magic Sony needs for Move, which thus far has had relatively lackluster sales.
