Over the past few weeks Ryan Peterson has talked a lot about "downsizing." New homes are trending smaller and older retirees are looking to downsize from their big, empty family-sized homes.
If you're wondering how to squeeze decade’s worth of accumulated furniture and other items into a smaller footprint, you may want to contact Downsize Specialist Holly Pajak who founded a company to do just that.
“I work with clients who need to streamline their possessions. Whether it's to stay in that existing home or to relocate,” said Pajak.
Pajak helps her "boomers and beyond" clients focus on spatial planning and organization. An approach that can also help get your old house, one that you may have lived in for 30 or 40 years, to market and ready to sell.
“They hired me to come in and really get the house organized in a way that they could put it on the market. This house was cleaned out and downsized. Her possessions that she's going to take have been removed. What's left is going to go up for either auction or an estate sale,” said Pajak.
You may be asking yourself, why would I pay somebody to help me do this? I can throw things out and re-organize on my own. Well, according to Pajak, it is not always easy.
