FUQUAY VARINA, N.C.--A man and his son escaped with only a few cuts after a scare in their small plane Saturday.

The pilot says he was flying over Dorton Arena in Raleigh around 10:35 a.m. when a hawk flew through the windshield.

The hawk was still inside the back of the plane when it landed at RDU.

The plane originally took off in Fuquay Varina, and the general aviation runway was temporarily closed, but is now reopen.
