CAROLINA BEACH — Surfers from across the country will be in Carolina Beach Thursday for the 2012 mid-Atlantic Regional Surfing Championships.

The event will feature more than 250 surfers vying for the chance to advance to the next round in Cape Hatteras this September.

The Eastern Surfing Association is hosting the event.
