WELCOME, N.C. -- Business and community leaders in Davidson County cut the ribbon Wednesday on the latest business to launch in the Piedmont.

TelWorx, a telecommunications provider for businesses and government agencies, opened a new 40,000-square-foot eco-friendly facility in Welcome.

The building uses recycled construction materials, low flow plumbing, large windows and motion activated lighting.

The company says it hopes to double its existing workforce, with some jobs paying as much as $60,000 a year.
