Goldsboro--Goldsboro Police have arrested four suspects in the case of Ken McLaurin Jr. and may have found the 16-year-old's body.

Leonard Joyner, 21, 19-year-old Jerome Butts, 18-year-old Kevin Smith and 17-year-old Curtis Etheridge are in custody and charged with the murder of Mclaurin, who was the focus of an Amber Alert.

This kidnapping-turned murder investigation has much of the Goldsboro community on edge.

Last week, the community came together holding a march to find McLaurin. That came to an end when police announced the case as a homicide on Friday.

Authorities also believe they have uncovered remains that may be that of McLaurin's in the Seven Springs area.

Officials said the remains will be sent to the North Carolina State Medical Examiner’s Office in Chapel Hill for analyses and positive identification.

People in the Goldsboro said they're shocked to see this kind of tragedy in their community.

"It really shocked me, I couldn't believe it, I was kinda like really? Did it really happen because it's so quiet here and things like that never happen here,” said Roshone Yelverton.

McLaurin's church is also remembering him at their Sunday service.
