GREENVILLE, N.C.--Two East Carolina University softball coaches are out of a job.
Head coach Tracey Kee and associate head coach Natalie Kozlowski were dismissed from the organization.
Officials said the decision came after an internal inquiry found an emotionally hostile environment in the program, as well as potential NCAA violations and shortcomings related to oversight of property and fiscal matters.
Shortly after the coaches' dismissal, their attorney released a statement on their behalf saying in part, "Throughout the university's process to this point, we have had no opportunity to formally respond,
to present evidence, or to question those who accuse us. In the future, we will have opportunities to defend ourselves and to protect our reputations. We look forward to those opportunities."
The two were suspended on August 31.
