TAMPA, Fla. – Elon senior Jack Minor and other college students in North Carolina are soaking in the knowledge and the experience at the Republican National Convention.

Minor and about 140 other college students across the country are in an internship seminar with the Washington Center Program.

The two-week program connects students with all the major players in a convention from politicians to journalists.

At the RNC, Minor and other students get different field work assignments like the committee of arrangements or different media outlets

The Elon student is working with the New York Post and soaking in a unique experience in Florida.

β€œIt brings everything you are studying to life. It's incredible because you can't read about what's going on here, you have to come here and experience it and for me it's been a chance of a lifetime to be able to come here and see how everything works,” said Minor.

The Washington Center Program has a similar two week seminar tied to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.
