CHARLOTTE -- The woman involved in a fatal street racing accident in 2009 will spend the next 32 to 40 months in prison. Carlene Atkinson, 47, pleaded guilty to three counts of involuntary manslaughter Tuesday morning. Two of those counts were consolidated.

Police say Atkinson and then 23-year-old Tyler Stasko were drag racing in April 2009 along York Road at Riverpoint Drive. Officers say their racing caused the accident that killed 13-year-old Hunter Holt, Cynthia Furr and her daughter, McAllister.

Atkinson said nothing as the judge handed down the sentence. Holt's mother called her heartless and soulless.

In December 2011, Stasko was found guilty of three counts of involuntary manslaughter. He's currently serving a sentence of at least 45 months in prison.
