HIGH POINT — The 73rd annual Wyndham Golf Tournament is a month away and the Triad region is gearing up for what is going to be an economic boost for the area.
Organizers say the event pulls in more than $30 million for the Piedmont-Triad and with North Carolina native and rising golf star Webb Simpson committed to the event, ticket sales and sponsor interest has soared.
"It's going to be a great event, come and watch some great golf" said President & CEO HP Convention and Visitors Bureau Tim Mabe.
Thursday evening, tournament director Mark Brazil updated the community on the planning progress at the High Point Country Club. Brazil said it is an event that helps put the region in the national spotlight.
"We look at this event as a way to galvanize the community. And like my boss says kind of get its swag back," said Brazil.
Anyone who is interested in tournament tickets, day passes are selling for $30. For more information, visit the tournament website.
