CLEMMONS – The female monkey that has been roaming a neighborhood in Clemmons is back safe with her keepers.

The eight-pound primate escaped from the Wake Baptist's Friedberg campus 11 days ago and has been on the move ever since. Crews caught her around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Doctors said they were confident she would do fine in the wild but now they have to make sure the monkey does not bring anything dangerous back with her.

The medical center said they had help from Lexington police, Davidson County Sheriff's Office and Forsyth County Animal Control.
