LEXINGTON, N.C. -- Heating help is coming to an end in one county. The Davidson County Department of Social Services said it is almost out of its Low Income Energy Assistance funds.

Leaders said because of recent cuts, they were not able to help as many families. Now people will have to find another way to cover their heating costs.

"The way it's set up, there is a running tally," said Dale Moorefield with DSS. "You know how much money's left in the program each time you issue a benefit."

DSS said people in need of energy assistance may be able to go to local churches or non-profits for help.
