GREENSBORO—Congressman Howard Coble plans to run for another term.

He is seeking a 15th term in the newly drawn Sixth District. Coble said he is up for the job and looking forward to meeting his new constituents.

"Pardon my immodesty, I have a pretty good following beyond the sixth district. Not good enough to declare myself a gubernatorial candidate. However, but that's pretty much going to be my lead market," said Rep. Howard Coble.

The 80-year-old was hospitalized in December with a respiratory infection. Coble said he is felling better, and his doctors tell him there's no reason he should not continue in office

Coble is one of the oldest members of Congress. But he said he should be judged by his record, not his age.
