GREENSBORO —Anyone that wants to turn a hunt for a holiday treasure into a good deed, there is a new option in the Triad.

Freedom House opened its second thrift store on battleground avenue in Greensboro on Black Friday. Revenue from both stores supports the organization's services for women and children. The organization provides housing and relief for women recovering from drug addiction.

"A lot of times, people judge the women because they have addiction issues, and that's true that they have made some bad choices. But they also have come from some bad circumstances and they need a lot of help to see what they can do and who they can be," said executive director Ann Thomsson.

Women in the program also learn some job skills by working in the thrift stores. In addition to the new location on Battleground Ave., Freedom House has a store on West Market Street.
