GREENSBORO — It was a two-crane operation to install a new steeple at a Greensboro church.
The First Christian Church on West Market Street had to dismantle its steeple in June after more than 50 years of deterioration. The new one went into place Tuesday night. Church members and neighbors came out to watch it go up.
Although the old steeple was too worn out to be repaired, the church did save the cross from the top and put it on the new steeple.
The congregation has been at its location on West Market Street for almost 60 years.
