WINSTON-SALEM—In Feb. 9, 2006, someone shot and killed 13-year-old Isaiah Brooks.

Family members say it happened on the corner of 25th and Machine Streets and five years later, they are still convinced that someone saw what happened.

"I just pray to God that somebody will open up and say something so that we can get some closure," said mother Barbara Stephenson.

Until the family gets closure, Brooks' mother, siblings and a host of family and friends continue to honor the teenager's life. On the anniversary of the teen's death, the community is remembering his life by sharing what he loved most: reading. Community members donated more than 2,500 books for children and teens.

The books were free to anyone who wants to read.

"I want everyone to know that we still got him in our heart," said Sheree Stephenson, sister. "We are not forgetting anything. We want to find out who is out there and if it takes for us to do something everyday, we can do that."

If you have any information on the case of Brooks, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 336-727-2800.
