SALISBURY, N.C. -- A Rowan County man accused of abducting his 4-month-old son will make his first court appearance Monday.
Jonathan Dillard, 24, was arrested Saturday and charged with child abduction and assault of a female.
Police say the kidnapping stemmed from a domestic dispute Friday. When the child's mother, Jennetta Walker, went to a neighbor’s house to call police, Dillard grabbed the child and left on foot.
The infant, Jaylen Dillard, was located and treated at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He was born three months prematurely and suffers from several medical conditions including kidney stones, high blood pressure and reflux, all of which require the child to take several medications.
He's in reportedly in good health and back with his mother.
