RALEIGH -- A 23-year-old man was found fatally shot inside a parked car early Sunday morning at a Kangaroo gas station on Capital Boulevard.

Witnesses say 23-year-old Sedrick Williams, of Henderson, was actually shot at Pericos nightclub on Paula Street, near Wake Forest Road.

An armed security guard, 35-year-old Shontavius Brown, asked the victim and another man to leave the club, and that's when they say 33-year-old Tobarus Alston went to his car, grabbed a gun and began shooting at Brown.

Brown returned fire and police believe that's when Williams was shot.

Police charged Alston with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. They're investigating to see if Brown should be charged.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Raleigh police.
