WINSTON-SALEM – Wake Forest University students, staff and families prepared traditional turkey dinners for hungry people across Winston-Salem as part of Turkeypalooza, an annual event on the campus.

Officials say they will prepare more than 250 meals this week, but this year organizers made some changes to the program.

“This year, we changed our turkeys and we got all of them locally at the Reynolda Farm Market as part of an effort to make this even more of a homegrown, local event for our volunteers and clients,” Campus Kitchen Coordinator Shelly Graves said.

The students will deliver the meals to Azalea Terrace Senior Apartments, the Children's Home and Holly Haven House in addition to some other locations.
