Out at the E3 video game convention in Los Angeles on Thursday, loads of hot new titles are being unveiled. A convention center full of video games, yet somehow a handful always seem to draw a few more of the ooo's and ahhh's.
With Assassin's Creed for example, there's just something about the realism of these titles that transports you back to other times. Assassin's Creed 3 is set during the American Revolution, complete with some cameos from George Washington.
“We have everything from a frontier landscape and then from there we go into the cities of Boston and New York,” said Steven Masters from Ubisoft. “You're going to be playing in full accurate reconstructions. On top of that, we also have an incredibly varied naval experience.”
And considering Avengers, the movie, is smashing all sorts of box office records, it is safe to say this upcoming Avengers title for the Kinect is garnering just a bit of interest.
“What you do in the game--it's like launching the most powerful attack you can do like the Hulk Smash,” said Charles Benoit from Ubisoft.“You rise your arm and hit the ground; like Wolverine's claws, you slash the enemy, so it's all the cool stuff you can do in the game.”
And if you like the idea of virtually becoming your favorite character from a movie or book, then without question any game that has Harry Potter in the title is certain to become a member of your must-have list.
“We wanted to take all eight movies and allow the players to basically replay their favorite moments from all the different movies,” said Joel Seider from Warner Bros. “For example there's a dueling club in here. You use voice commands, you call out spells you want to cast, and then to cast you simply do a wand motion just like you see the cast in the movies do.”
