NEBO, N.C.--The intense heat may be to blame for the death of a McDowell County woman.

The 73-year-old woman collapsed and died at her home in the Nebo community over the weekend.

Family members say she had gone outside on her deck to look at her flower garden.

Officials say she had a number of health problems and was taking several medications.
