FAYETTEVILLE – A four legged friend who was rescued by Cumberland County Animal Control is bringing inspiration to everyone he meets. Scooter, a two-year-old border collie mix, is paralyzed from the waist down. When he was brought into the shelter, staff was determined to save him.
"What people want from a dog Scooter can provide but he can provide so much more because he has overcome what, to many people and other animals, is devastating,” said Jennifer Tracy, the lead shelter attendant.
The shelter is looking into making Scooter a therapy dog to bring his inspiration to others who may deal with disabilities.
