CHARLOTTE -- The sweeping overhaul of the health care system has left many people with a lot of questions, but the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce did its part to help provide some answers with a summit on Tuesday to discuss health care reform.

The event provided information for local business owners and health care providers about the changes and allowed them to ask questions to a panel of experts.

Organizers said looking ahead to what happens next is just the first step in a long process. "So I think this is sort of a start of a framework to help make healthcare and the health of our populations improve,” said Susan Devore, president and CEO of Premier, Inc. “I think it is a long term project, not a short term project."

Carolinas Healthcare System, Presbyterian Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina all helped sponsor the summit.
