WAYNESVILLE, N.C.--A western North Carolina man kept a winning lottery ticket in his wallet for two weeks before realizing he'd hit the jackpot.
The Times-News of Henderson reported Friday that when Wade Haskett of Waynesville learned his ticket was worth $118,000, he bought a lock-box to keep it safe.
Haskett said he regularly plays the lottery, but he didn't look at his November 6, Cash 5 ticket until November 25, when his wife told him the winning ticket had been bought at a nearby store.
