CHARLOTTE — Friday night, people in Charlotte were treated to a unique set of short movies about their own city.

Leading up to next month's Democratic National Convention, the Charlotte in 2012 committee oversaw the production of 30 two-minute videos about the things which make Charlotte a unique city in the new south.

Organizers and filmmakers hope it gives a diverse picture of what the queen city is about.

"This city is a very progressive city with a lot going on, from sustainability to eduction to health care, so it's great to able to tell the stories about all that we have going on,” said Filmmaker Lashawnda Becoats.
