Time Warner Cable to offer free Wi-Fi during convention

CHARLOTTE – Time Warner Cable is doing its part to make the Internet more accessible during next month's Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.

Corporate leaders announced Friday that Wi-Fi hotspots have been installed in Uptown, SouthEnd, Myers Park, Dilworth and Midtown and are available for free now to all TWC Business Class Customers and TWC Residential customers who subscribe to standard or higher Internet Service.

Customers can log on with their Time Warner Cable email address and password. Non-subscribers will be able to use the hotspots for $2.95 an hour.

During the conventions, it will be free to all.

"We are also announcing that TWC Wi-Fi will be available the week prior to the convention and the week of the convention for all users at no charge," said Carol Hevey, EVP of operations for Time Warner Cable's East Region.
