FORT BRAGG -- A Fort Bragg soldier charged in connection with a deadly car crash in Fayetteville last month is expected to make his first court appearance Friday afternoon.
Police say 21-year-old Robert Jones, Jr. is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of prearranged racing. Investigators say Jones was racing with a car driven by another special ops soldier, Nickolas Hayden, along Lambert Street on July 22.
Hayden and his passenger Russell Snapp were killed. Two others in a separate vehicle were taken to the hospital. Investigators say Hayden's car was traveling in excess of 90 miles an hour at the time of the crash.
