RALEIGH – Heavy storms brought rain, wind and lightning to much of North Carolina Saturday night.

Officials at Progress Energy say thousands of people across the triangle were without power overnight.

They said they expect most of those to be cleared up by Sunday morning.

If you need to report an outage, you can call Progress Energy at 1-800-419-6356 or Duke Energy at 1-800-POWER-ON.
