PINEVILLE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the tag of a car discovered in a wooded area Monday near Interstate 77 matches the tag in a missing persons case.

State Highway Patrol found the car Monday morning while investigating another wreck at I-77 and I-485 in Pineville. Officers said the tag matches the car listed to Max Espinoza, a Charlotte DJ who's been missing for months.

A body was inside the car and authorities said they believe it had been there for months.

Officers said the medical examiner will have to confirm the body is Espinoza.
