KENLY, N.C.--A community in Johnston County mourns the loss of a teenager killed in a car crash.

16-year-old Sarah Earp was driving her SUV on Princeton Kenly Road Thursday night.

Authorities say she ran off the road, overcorrected, and hit a tree.

17-year-old Stephanie Heaton was a passenger in the car, and was flown to Wake Medical Center. Heaton is expected to be okay.

Troopers say alcohol wasn't a factor and that both girls were wearing their seat belts.

Earp was a rising junior at Princeton High School.
