CHAPEL HILL -- The head of Fox News was in Chapel Hill Thursday night as part of UNC'S Distinguished Lecture Series.
CEO Roger Ailes touched on a variety of topics from media bias to political news coverage during his appearance at Carroll Hall.
The Fox News Channel has been the number one rated cable news network for many years.
Ailes talked about the channel's rise since its launch in 1996 and also discussed the relationship between the press and the government.
"Democracy depends on freedom of the press. But freedom depends on fairness in the press. There has to be more than one point of view," said Fox News CEO Roger Ailes.
During a Q & A session, Ailes was asked about 'The Daily Show,' the popular current affairs show on Comedy Central that some rely on for news.
Ailes said he respects what Jon Stewart does with that show.
