WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Raleigh-Durham International Airport was packed with military families Saturday, celebrating their holiday in the hangar.

The airport played host to the kid friendly event, giving those who serve our country a day that was about connecting families during the holidays. After sacrificing much of their life to protect our country, the United Services Organization and other members of the community had the opportunity to say thanks for all they do.

"I've done three deployments in Iraq so coming back and being with my family it gives us a chance to get together have some food and get stuff for the kids to do," said Staff Sgt. David Ipock.

The event was organized by the USO of North Carolina, whose mission is to bring military families in the state together.
