GRAHAM, N.C. — Despite 60 or 70 degree temperatures, people can go ice skating outdoors in Alamance County.

Graham Parks and Recreation opened up its ice skating rink in the parking lot of the Children's Museum of Alamance County on Sunday. Whatever money is left over from ticket sales after paying the rental costs will go to the Children's Museum.

The 30 ft. by 50 ft. rink is made of synthetic ice, so no frigid temperatures are needed to keep it in skating shape.

"It'll skate like ice, the difference is that it's not cold. it's a moderate temperature, whatever the temperature is outside. there's no slush," said City of Graham Parks & Rec. Director Melody Wiggins.

Anyone who would like to go ice skating, the rink will be open through Dec. 10. The cost is $7. for 1.5 hours skating and people can buy tickets though the Graham Recreation Center.
