V Foundation teams up with N.C. State
RALEIGH -- The
V Foundation for Cancer Research is teaming up with North Carolina State University.
The foundation is awarding $1 million to the school and is working with the university to start the Jimmy V and N.C. State cancer therapeutics training program.
The program, designed to introduce young scientists to cancer therapeutic research, is named for the late Jim Valvano, the former N.C. State basketball coach and athletic director who led the Wolfpack to a national championship in 1983 before dying of cancer 10 years later.
