WINSTON-SALEM — High school actors from across the state spent part of the weekend in Winston-Salem.

The University of North Carolina School of the Arts hosted the 2011 North Carolina Thespian Festival. Faculty members and special guest artists presented workshops for the group of more than 300 young actors.

The event wrapped up with an awards event on Saturday. Stand-out actors may be offered a chance to advance to the International Thespian Festival this July in Lincoln, NE.
