CHARLOTTE — A south Charlotte home is destroyed following an overnight fire.

It happened just after 2:00 a.m. on Treyford Lane in the community of Beverly Crest, just off Providence Road. It took 27 fire fighters about 40 minutes to put out the flames. The fire gutted the second floor of the house and the third story is gone.

No one was hurt and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
